Yeah Meriwether County!

Congratulations to Meriwether County!! Meriwether County was the recipient of the Georgia Aviation Project of the Year, presented by the Georgia Airports Association. There are approximately 170 airports in this association. The improvements to our airport which resulted in the award included the extension of the runway to 5000 feet; new runway lighting; taxiway turnarounds and new hangars. Meriwether County, through the Board of Commissioners; Public Works Department and its Meriwether County Airport Authority made huge investments of time, energy and funding to convert the airport into a driving force for our economic community. Congratulations to all those involved in this fantastic accomplishment on behalf of our county!!
